01

The standard we work toward

Our goal is for this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, the reference most public websites use. We do not claim full conformance and we do not hold an accessibility certification. The site is checked as new content is added, and the barriers you report are corrected as part of its regular maintenance.

02

What the site does today

The site is built so that its content can be used without a mouse and with assistive technology.

  • One main heading per page and section headings in order, so screen readers can outline the content.
  • A skip link to the main content, visible focus outlines, and keyboard access to menus, forms, store filters and the markers on the service-area map.
  • Text alternatives on photos and illustrations; images that are illustrative rather than real projects are labelled as such.
  • Form fields with visible labels, a clear error message when a request cannot be saved and a confirmation when it is.
  • Animations that stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • Text that enlarges with browser zoom, and layouts that adapt to phones, tablets and desktops.
  • Every page in English and Spanish, with the language declared so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
03

Known limitations

Some content is harder to make fully accessible, and we would rather say so than hide it.

  • The interactive service-area map is a visual aid. The cities and counties we serve are also written out on the service-areas page and on each city page.
  • Spec sheets and manuals are published by Generac or Kohler and may not meet the same standards. Call us and we will go over the details with you.
  • Content on other companies' sites that we link to, such as Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Synchrony Bank, follows their own accessibility practices.
  • Color contrast and screen-reader behavior have not yet been reviewed by an independent auditor. [CONFIRMAR: eliminar este punto cuando se haga la auditoría de accesibilidad]
